PlayCare
PlayCare’s educational setting engages children and stimulates growth as well as helps children to prepare for preschool and kindergarten. The goal is to provide the parents with the opportunity to focus on their learning, knowing that their children are safe and are having fun. The typical day in the program includes a daily snack, art projects, group circle time, games, reading and a variety of other activities. All activities have been carefully designed to enhance the emotional, cognitive and motor skill development of the children.
PlayCare services are available for children who are at least one year and walking, up to the age of five. PlayCare is a service provided by Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services and is not a licensed childcare facility. PlayCare is a co-operative program and often relies on parent volunteers for assistance when there are a large number of children needing care during an adult education class or Mother-Baby workshop.
ELIGIBILITY
Children 1-5 years of age of parents attending Adult Education or Mother-Baby classes. A completed registration form and a copy of the child’s birth certificate are needed upon entry into the program. No financial information is required.
